About Me

bt-2-12

I am a writer more by destiny than by design. In retrospect, it is easy to see the path that led me here, although I never intentionally planned to be a writer or author.

Since college, every position I’ve held required writing skills to land the job, even though writer was never the job title. Much of my early career work included writing policy and position papers for my federal employer. By mid-career, I had left federal service and my writing focus became marketing and business strategy for small businesses. Later, I wrote key personnel resumes for major corporations bidding on multi-billion dollar government contracts.

I left my initial career in the fall of 2014 to pursue writing full-time. Ironically, my position at my career conclusion was communications lead to the plant manager of a new cutting-edge manufacturing facility, a position that required mostly writing and community relations skills. Destiny had continued to influence my job choices all the way to career conclusion.

While establishing myself as a freelance writer, I continued to write resumes and biographies for executive level individuals who were either changing careers or looking to move up in their existing one. In addition, I have ghostwritten for several websites and musicians’ promotional material. I began entering my essays and poems in contests, receiving enough awards and recognition to encourage my writing pursuit. My first publication was in April 2017 with the inclusion of one of my award-winning essays in an anthology of regional writers.

As often happens in life, I followed a path designed by forces beyond me that led me to this new venture. My first book is set to release in late spring 2018.
